Imam Abdul Azeez is the resident Imam Of Al Masjidu Adam Community Life Center
for Human Excellence, Bronx NY. Imam Abdul Azeez accepted Al-Islam as a teenager
and began listening to Imam Dr. W. D. Mohammedʼs encouraging words. To fulfill his
desire for a comprehensive religious education, he applied to Islamic schools, but
was turned away because of finances; however, such difficulties did not stop him.
Subsequently, he studied from the same curriculum books and was rewarded greatly
for his effort.
Between 1993-present, Imam Azeez taught Arabic, Sirah, Tajweed, Quranic
vocabulary, Tafseer, Hadeeth anthology and fiqh at Masjid Abdullah in Massachusetts
under Imam Al-Ameen Muhammed. During this period, he gained a profound
appreciation for Imam Mohammed‘s insights that opened the door to realizing the
importance of ijtihaad for Him.
With encouragement from Imam Ibraheem Raheem, Azeez began drawing critical
links between Imam Mohammedʼs commentary and the classical Islamic sciences. He
also began translating statements and concepts from Imam Dr. W.D. Mohammed into
the Arabic language. The study of Arabic also became the medium by which a strong
relationship was formed between Imam Abdul Azeez and Imam Qasim Ahmad.
Imam Azeez is a frequent guest khatib and speaker at various masaajids in New York,
Connecticut, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Massachusetts, Florida and
North Carolina. He speaks at churches, universities and other organizations on
alternatives to violence and Islamic Ethics. He supports many organizations including
NASIM Conference, Mosques Cares, NMBC, Muslim Journal, Focalore and WDM
