Muslim Community Soup Kitchen (MCSK)
HISTORY & MISSION:
The Muslim Community Soup Kitchen(MCSK) is an affiliate community service of Masjidullah Inc., a charitable Islamic religious organization located in Plainfield, New Jersey. Feedings began in 1989.
The Muslim Community Soup Kitchen (MCSK), incorporated in February 1997, is a non-profit, federally tax-exempt 501(a) charitable organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to help feed humanities poor and hungry; collect and donate seasonal clothing; collect canned and non-perishable foods for distribution; and to work closely with other benevolent organizations doing the same. Recipients of our services are not required to be Muslim. We serve all humanity.
Currently, the MCSK serves approximately 50—65 men, women and children per week. Meals range from fresh fruits, subs, chicken, fish, to spaghetti, meat sauce, salad, bread and pastry. During the summer, the MCSK will receive donations of fresh vegetables from a local gardener.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To feed the poor and hungry people
2. To assist the poor and needy in some aspect of their daily lives.
3. To help the leaders of tomorrow (our children) become good citizens.
ACTIVITIES:
The MCSK will cook and feed the hungry. We will collect and donate seasonal clothing. We will accept help or donations from the community. We will maintain a steady register of benevolent members.
We will arrange festive occasions for the children. We will collect canned food for donation. We will work closely with other benevolent organizations.
